I woke up around 5 PM at Hotel Edda Laugar in Saelingsdal. Many of you already know I was sleeping days and staying up all night to take photos. This was my last day/night cycle in Iceland, so I wanted to make the most of it.
Anyway, after waking up, I went out to the natural hot springs for a dip. It was a perfect little rocky spring filled with steaming-hot sulfur-smelling water. As usual, I was totally alone and didn't see another soul. I stayed there, looking at the afternoon mountains for about 30 minutes until I reached a dangerous dream-state. And then dragged myself out and walked back to the hotel. I had one of those post-hot-tub shells of heat around me to protect from the cold. I didn't even feel it.

finally finishing off this note...take care...i love you...i had this posted on my blog a long time ago but got discouraged and got rid of most of my notes from 2008, i will try and be strong and never do this again, i'll have to consider it the lost teachings, i love you again...forever...also please check out some of my other favourite photographers...besides i have a good memory and i can bring it all back :)

I got back inside, put on some warm clothes, and then went down to get dinner (breakfast). Actually, I got two of them. The second one was to-go because I would eat it around 1 or 2 AM, when there is absolutely nothing open. Besides, I knew I would be way out in the boonies where there was not even an option for anything to be open!
Around 3 AM, I started driving back to Reykjavik. As I was going down one of the fjords in the northwest, the sign lined up in my view, so I pulled over to take a shot to share with you.

i'm back...it's 10.33pm est...had a lovely day...saw this guy dressed all in gold giving out gold beads like they do at the mardigra in new orleans, never been there but you see it on tv all the time, wish i could visit there one time...won't happen for a while unless i was an amazing photographer like you all...anyways...the guy he wears all gold and sells beads for $2.00 then you get to take a photo with him...he's one of those street performers, he's so wierd...i took a foto...so when i have time i will upload...uhm...dear ev, i like the updates you've added here....it's been a while since i've been back...but i hope to make some more notes here...uhm...i was lazy and in a slump and sometimes you are just stubborn, you don't wanna say anything...what good would it do anyways, nobody cares about what i have to say either...so that's it then...i'm moody sometimes too, what else...uhm...this morning i read the news...my first reaction...wasn't sure whether i should've cried now or later...you already know i'm a cry baby...uhm...i pray you come home soon...love always....someone who's always thinking of you...love forever....we got work to do peoples...brb...right mark? we got infrastructure that needs work on...we like building things...hope you had a good day hbd :)

IMAGINE PEACE TOWER is an outdoor work of art conceived by Yoko Ono in memory of John Lennon. It is situated on Viðey Island in Reykjavík, Iceland. The artwork was dedicated to John by Yoko at its unveiling on October 9th 2007, John Lennons 67th birthday.
IMAGINE PEACE TOWER symbolizes Lennons and Onos continuing campaign for world peace - which began in the sixties, was sealed by their marriage in 1969 and will continue forever.
The words IMAGINE PEACE are inscribed on the Well in 24 different languages.
IMAGINE PEACE TOWER is composed of a tall shimmering tower of light that will appear every year and be visible from October 9th (Johns birthday) until December 8th (the anniversary of his passing).
In addition, the Tower will illuminate from Winter Solstice (December 21st 28th), on New Years Eve (December 31st) and the first week of spring (March 21st -28th). It is lit from 2 hours after sunset until midnight, and until dawn on New Years Day.
On 9th October, John Lennons birthday, Yoko Ono asks the people of Iceland to join her and many others across the rest of the world in praying for peace and stability.
At 8pm, as IMAGINE PEACE TOWER is illuminated on the island of Viðey, in Reykjavik, Iceland, she asks everyone to join together and let the power of light and prayer become a collective expression of the desire for peace and harmony on our planet.
Dear Friends,
Please join me not only in remembering John on October 9th but also in spreading the message of peace. This is something that was so important to John - the fact that we could all work together for the positive good of our planet. He would have loved how we are all mobilizing ourselves in thought and in action.
