No fancy titles... this says it all. This is the reason my stay in Yellowstone and Tetons was so short. I chose to fly in and out of Salt Lake City so I'd have a very rare chance to possibly photograph a wild mountain lion

The cougar had been seen sporadically at a natural spring in the Wasatch Mountains. I was stationed in a tree stand 20 feet off the ground. Today was my first morning in the stand and nothing showed up. For the afternoon/evening session I had been in the tree for about an hour-and-a-half by the time the sun went down. Soon afterward, the cat appeared! It was only there for a couple minutes before disappearing back into the woods.
I'm so pumped. :D This is such a rare photo opportunity, and I can't believe that with only two days available, this trip paid off! Woo hoo!
now remember stay away from the animals, don't do this at home, best to stay away from the bears here in vancouver, do not feed them, but i think they are still in hibernating season at the moment...p.m.w....
I had a great 13 months of wild cat encounters between November 2007 and November 2008. This mountain lion was probably the highlight, but there were several others, including a visit with three wild pumas in Costa Rica in late November, 2008. Check out more wild cat photos in my Big Cats set.

"I Want You (She's So Heavy)", is a combination of two somewhat different recording attempts. The first attempt occurred almost immediately after the "Get Back/Let It Be" sessions in February 1969 and featuring Billy Preston on keyboards. This was subsequently combined with a second version made during the "Abbey Road" sessions proper, and when edited together ran nearly 8 minutes long, making it The Beatles's second-longest released song ("Revolution 9" being the longest). Perhaps more than any other Beatles song, "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" reveals a pronounced progressive rock influence, with its unusual length and structure, repeating guitar riff, and "white noise" effects; the "I Want You" section has a straightforward blues structure. It also features one of the earliest uses of a Moog synthesizer to create the white-noise or "wind" effect heard near the end of the track. During the final edit, as the guitar riff continues on and on, Lennon told engineer Geoff Emerick to "cut it right there" at the 7:44 mark, creating a sudden, jarring silence which concluded side one of "Abbey Road". The final overdub session for "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" would be the last time all four Beatles worked in the studio together.

Adding the snow
2009 would have been the perfect year for hosting the winter games, as we got plenty of the white stuff, this year 2010, they are taking snow from area' where they've stock-piled it, and adding to any event area's which are in need. It's been rather 'balmy' here lately, so I really wonder if they'll have enough. They are also utilizing hay bales for building up walls etc, then will cover these also.
