These old trains in Europe are always cool. I can't imagine how incredibly heavy they are. All that cast iron just looks like it might create its own gravitational force. I like looking at all the machinery and piping and stuff. I'm the first to admit that I don't know a dang thing about trains, but I do like looking at them.
I visited a train museum also while I was in Dresden. It was really interesting looking at all the tiny inventions that had been deprecated and forgotten over time. They would have extremely specialized tools that would only do one thing for a technology that only lasted a short time. Some of these things must have weighed several tons, and the only task it could perform is maybe a mounting harness for a cast iron part that only fit one sort of train that was only in service for a few years. It was a cool museum. I guess it is kind of a guy thing... it must have been, since I didn't even see another woman in the whole place!

Here at the Hotel Spidari in central Milan, there is a tiny Italian woman down stairs that asks no questions and makes cappucinos all day. I've been eating breakfasts down there while reading my book... every time I look up, she is standing there like a ghostly madonna, holding a new cappucino with a bowl of unpronouncable sweetener products. Yesterday morning, after the game, I did not know what to say to her, so I said, "Viva Forza Italia," to which she returned a grim expression and presented a fresh cappucino.

Oh dearie, I didn't mean to create a religious pic. It isn't, really. I'm just developing my technique of placing myself in locations using Photoshop rather than reality. We visited a church in Knaresborough and I wisely snapped some panaromic RAWs to place my shrouded self in later. It continues the light/dark theme I have been indulging in recently.
There's still something I'm not satisfied with about the pic but I have spent so much time adjusting things, and have done so much with it, I thought it's time to share!

We are commonly asked about the buildings which remain standing. Most were destroyed. What we see are those in remote areas and those which were so incredibly massive in size it was impossible to destroy them, even with the use of cannons. However, the entire Aztec capital was destroyed, and in its place is the capital of Mexico, Mexico City, and its hundreds of Catholic churches and cathedrals.
We are also asked if we believe the world will end in 2012? The answer is: "no." The next cycle of the Mayan calendar ends on 2012. Does this mean the Maya's believed the world end on 2012? No. It means the calendar ends. Yet, there is also a warning, and we must learn from the past, so let those with eyes, see.
