St. John's Wort is recognized as an excellent herbal alternative treatment for some forms of depression.
I have always been challenged by this flower. So many elements, so splayed about and explosive. It is a fun one to spend time with.
I ask that you note the focal point is the tip of the stamen on the central structure. Confusing anatomy on this complex blossom.

Oh, also, I also like the to draw and I find it helps me quite a bit with the photography. I started teaching myself in an experiment to see if I could learn in April of 2008. Here is a compilation of some work I did between April and October of that year. I still don’t think I’m very good, but I look forward to improving.
