i can not believe i have seen "the ten words" dating back to 30-1 BCE...let's start off with this summer....there's this church here on the side of the highway that we've always passed...and finally on this day i was allowed to take fotos....we made time to stop over and visit this place...and here's a little snippet from the flyer i got at the exhibition ~ the phrase "the ten commandments" does not appear anywhere in the septuagint, the ancient greek version of the hebrew bible. instead, it uses the phrase hoi deka logoi, "the ten words, "from which we have the term decalogue ~
...this place was also very peaceful like a lot of places here in canada...this is the only way we live honey...uhm ok...time to get serious...uhm...so i stopped to take fotos...i always admired driving by and being so curious as to what was inside this church...unfortunately i could not get in? it looked like it was lived in but? no one was home, their garden looked like it had not been tended to all summer? but i wasn't really sure? next time we drive by it i will have to find out? it looked like no one lived here, there's a little cemetery here that was behind the tree called, "in memory of the pioneers of mt. zion & community" here's another foto...we went also the the back yard, was very pretty...all surrounding this area is basically farm land...and it was harvest time...
...now for this weeks news...like i was saying before...i have seen with my own eyes the writings of the Hebrew people...called, "the ten words" aka "the ten commandments" i can not believe i have seen it with my own eyes...i mean i think i'm lucky...the only other place where these texts are kept is in jerusalem? in the holy temple i believe?...it was written in Hebrew meaning reading from right to left...there was also information on the wall...during the exhibit...writing on the wall that explained more about the scriptures...on the wall were two columns...in the first column on the left was called, "column II" and then second column was called "column V" i'm not sure why this was...but i think it had something to do with the writings and the example was from deuteronomy 5 //// and 6 -21 - ....what i saw in the box was a low lit showcase of "the ten words" it's very sensitive to light so the police man who was stationed there mentioned the light was turned on at 9:45am until 9:45pm everyday for the event...the scrolls were discovered by bedouin goat herders...one of their flock got away supposedly, so when they ran in to the cave to look for their flock they found a whole lot more....the caves were discovered in 1952, in cave 4...a lady i was talking to there said, "how come they didn't find it a 1000 years ago?" i answered, "maybe because it wasn't time yet..." she replied, "maybe so..." i wonder whenever is there a right time? i don't know either....anyways....i can't believe i have seen them with my own eyes...so much to write and so little time....the scriptures were ancient...most of the scrolls were written on papyrus but these were written on leather so they weathered the storm much better...good idea Lord :) there were 6 columns of writings...six parts of the scriptures...if i remember correctly and pretty much have not changed in their words as they are seen today...the words are still the same but the people have changed...have we changed for better for worse? i do not know...only time will tell right? i will try to write again...another time...for myself...

....oh yes...i almost forgot....there was such a huge line up...i was so thankful i was able to see these kinds of things...the exhibit was only here for a week you know...because of the scriptures sensitivity to light they can not have the documents out for very long...so we only got "8" continuous days to view these documents...and while in the line up they said there was a kind of time limit for each person...just as a guideline "6" minutes for each...the guard mentioned he was atheist...i said, "well you're lucky you were chosen for this duty" and..he thought about it shrugged his shoulders and replied "well yes i guess i am" and i smiled that was good enough to hear...he was lucky he spent all day there...he mentioned he was doing this extra curricular duty for his kids....how sweet what a great dad...a lot of people who bought tickets were upset because not everyone got to see the writings, they waited in line for hours, a lot of people were upset...people waited hours in hopes to view these scriptures...all kinds of people...when you were viewing the ten commandments you had to walk through the whole hall on the third floor...the lineup takes you through the writings of the exhibit "book of the dead" written by the egyptians...so basically i was back in time from the starting of time BC...kind of thought...
oh yes...also...while walking on yonge street on my way to the museum, i also learned about another woman maria baker eddy...she has a little reading place here on yonge street...it was an interesting place and finally i got to visit this place also...last time it was closed....so yah lots of good information i learned about this week...and something to be grateful for everyday...even when you think it's your worst day...something good will always come around i think...
i'm so glad in my lifetime i have witnessed the writings with my own two eyes...now if only the rest of the world can understand what we're fighting for...peace...i say to all of you...Amen...
