Red Temple in the Moon Forest
Most people don't know this, but I wrote a novel about 15 years ago. The reason no one knows about it is because it was so awful that no one would publish it. I printed out the first few chapters of the book, sent them to countless publishers, and then received countless rejections. I should have saved of them. It was quite depressing at the time, and it only took me 14 years to get over it.

Anyway, I bring this up because part of the story was based in Kyoto, Japan, where this temple is located. I had never been there before, but this is exactly how I always pictured it: peaceful, still, natural, ancient, with the soft sounds of the woods echoing around the old wood. It's a wonderful place. I've done my best to capture the feeling of the place. I only hope I've come close to succeeding.

A Rose In The Early Morning...1,964,544 views

...finally went walking today took some pictures at the lost lagoon...i walked east and around the right bend toward the south side of the lagoon, first time i ever saw the christmas lights, it's either been too long since i've been there or i just never noticed to remember before...
...on the east side of the lagoon i stopped because i saw the blue heron...he was perfectly still for me with a perfect pose...people walked by, back and forth...and this man sat on the bench talking to passer's by...i stopped to talk also...he told me " oh this bird i know him very well...he pose like that for nine hours or so waiting to catch the fish when they come up" i said, "oh wow really nice...so you know this one quite well" he said, "yes i do, i know him very well..." i could smell the alcohol under his breath, maybe to keep him warm, the weather was alright it was warm tonight...
...i kept taking fotos of the blue heron...so pretty these shots, i can't wait to see them later...i asked him his name...and he said, "oh me my name? Peter..." i said "oh nice to meet you... :) " he then went on where he's from and how he was alone...and came to the west coast...he was from winnipeg he said...he told me how he lost his love of 40 years...they had been married that long and how it didn't work out...i told him..."well you can go back there and work it out...bring her some roses" peter said, "nooooo...it would never work out....i just had to leave" i said, "ok then, now you're here (at the lost lagoon thinking to myself)" he's like "do you know where they're nests are?" i said, "no" "well they're over there just under the bridge, they have a beautiful nest over there" i said, "so nice" and continued taking pictures and then said, "ok got to go to the other side now and get fotos of the swans... :) and he's like..."ok...i'll be waiting..." and i walked away...oh you should see the fotos of the swans i got...i missed you so much...today i saw so many about five or six or seven swans...so beautiful...can't wait to see those fotos later also...
so happy i got to visit here again...one of the swans is 19 years old i found out...one of the ladies there who helps feed the swans was feeding them, she knew all their names...it was a perfect day for pictures...
